ACCESSIBILITY & INCLUSION STATEMENT
Cheshire Baby Support is committed to providing care that is welcoming, respectful and accessible to all families.
We recognise that every parent, caregiver and baby is unique. Feeding journeys are influenced by many factors, including physical ability, neurodiversity, sensory needs, culture, identity, language and lived experience.
Our Approach
We aim to provide support that is:
• Compassionate and non-judgemental
• Inclusive of all family structures and identities
• Respectful of different communication styles
• Aware that not all lactating people identify as female or use the term mother
• Sensitive to the emotional and sensory experience of feeding support
Lived Understanding
Accessibility and inclusion are not just policies for us - they are deeply personal values.
Our Founder & Clinical Director, Amanda, lives with a physical disability and is neurodivergent. This brings a level of lived understanding to our practice, particularly around:
• Communication differences
• Sensory needs
• Fatigue and energy limits
• Navigating healthcare as a disabled person
• Feeling heard and respected in clinical settings
This perspective helps shape the way we design appointments, provide information, and support families. We recognise that “standard” healthcare environments do not work for everyone, and we aim to create a space that feels calmer, clearer and more accommodating.
We do not assume - we ask. If something would help you feel more comfortable, please tell us.
Neurodiversity & Communication
We welcome neurodivergent parents and caregivers. If you prefer:
• Written information
• Slower-paced explanations
• Clear step-by-step guidance
• Reduced sensory input during appointments
• Time to process decisions
please let us know - we are happy to adapt.
Physical Accessibility
If you or your baby have physical accessibility needs, mobility requirements, or positioning considerations, please inform us in advance so we can plan appropriately.
Cultural Awareness
We value cultural diversity and understand that feeding traditions and family practices differ. We aim to provide evidence-based care that is respectful of your values.
Language & Identity
We respect chosen names, pronouns and identities. Please tell us how you would like to be addressed.
Website Accessibility
We aim to ensure this website is easy to read and navigate, with clear language and simple layout. If you encounter any difficulty accessing information, please contact us.
Ongoing Learning
We are committed to ongoing education in inclusivity, cultural awareness and equitable care.
If there is anything that would help you feel more comfortable accessing support, please contact us - we will do our best to help.
