Nice to meet you

My Story

My name is Jenny Johnson, and I’ve been a practising midwife since qualifying in 2006. I now work as an independent midwife, offering truly holistic, family-centred care with a strong focus on continuity and informed choice.

Throughout my midwifery career, I’ve had a deep interest in supporting breastfeeding mothers and their babies. After both of my sons were born with tongue-ties, I was surprised by how little knowledge and support was available for families navigating this issue. This personal experience inspired me to complete a master’s-level course in tongue-tie and tongue-tie division at the University of Wolverhampton – the only university-accredited course of its kind in the UK.

I believe that tongue-tie treatment should never be delivered in isolation. Simply performing a division without skilled follow-up support often leads to suboptimal outcomes. That’s why I work closely with Amanda Brooks, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

Amanda provides comprehensive infant feeding support before, during and after the procedure – including assessing feeding effectiveness and body tension – to ensure the best possible outcomes for each family.

I am fully registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for tongue-tie procedures, and insured through the Association of Tongue-Tie Practitioners (ATTP). I am committed to providing safe, effective, and compassionate care that supports both the physical and emotional needs of the families I work with.
