We carry out a full assessment of:

  • Positioning and attachment during feeding

  • A gentle oral examination of your baby

  • An evaluation of milk transfer and feeding effectiveness

 

You’ll receive an individualised care plan, tailored to your baby’s needs and your feeding goals – whether that’s breastfeeding, expressing, bottle feeding, or a combination.

 

We take time to understand what matters most to you and work with you to create a plan that’s practical, evidence-based, and aligned with your values.

Trouble Shooting Session

This shorter session is ideal for less complex issues where you just need a bit of extra support or reassurance.

Perfect for:

  • Refining positioning and attachment

  • Bottle feeding questions or concerns

  • Support when feeding is established, but something still doesn’t feel quite right

 

These sessions are popular with families who aren’t facing major concerns, but would benefit from professional guidance to help feeding feel more comfortable and confident.

Antenatal Parent Education

This in-depth session is designed to help you feel confident and prepared for life with your newborn.

We’ll explore key topics including:

  • What to expect in the early days and weeks

  • Responsive newborn care

  • Infant sleep and normal baby behaviour

  • Getting breastfeeding off to a good start

 

There’s also space to reflect on any previous feeding experiences, ask questions, and discuss topics like tandem feeding or combination feeding if relevant to your journey.

 

Whether it’s your first baby or your fifth, this session is tailored to you – helping you feel informed, reassured, and ready to meet your baby with confidence.

What is and IBCLC?

An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) is a specialist healthcare professional trained in the clinical management of infant feeding. IBCLCs are certified by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) and the qualification is independently accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).

IBCLCs work across a range of settings, offering expert support, leadership, advocacy, and education in the field of lactation and infant feeding. We are uniquely qualified to help families with everything from everyday feeding questions to complex clinical issues.

What happens during an appointment?

Before your appointment, we’ll send you a pre-consultation form to gather information about your feeding journey so far.

This helps us to tailor the session to your needs and make the best use of our time together.

 

During the consultation, we will:

  • Explore your history and current concerns

  • Observe a feed (if your baby is ready to feed)

  • Carry out a gentle oral examination of your baby if needed

  • Offer support, reassurance, and evidence-based guidance

  • Work with you to create a personalised feeding plan

 

IBCLCs don’t just look at the surface of a problem – we work collaboratively with you to understand the root causes and help you find sustainable, empowering solutions that align with your goals.

What can an you help with?

Many families come to us with common challenges such as cluster feeding, sleep changes, weaning, or colic. We can support with these and more complex issues, including:

  • Low milk supply

  • Ongoing breast or nipple pain

  • Tongue-tie

  • Cleft palate

  • Breastfeeding a premature or unwell baby

  • Slow or faltering weight gain

  • Re-lactation or induced lactation

  • Bottle refusal or aversion

  • Feeding after breast surgery

  • Breast abscess or infection

  • Babies who are unable to latch
