Lactation Visits
The client has a choice of a home or office visit.
Home: within 45 miles of postcode area CW6, a surcharge will be applied at 45p per mile outside of this service area.

Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Care provides all clients with a Consent for Care. This form will be provided to the client when scheduling a consultation, and must be signed before services are rendered. Client has the right to refuse any treatment or intervention offered to you, and this refusal will be documented in your chart.
Consent is verbally requested before touching client or client’s minor child. Client may withdraw consent to be touched even if consent was previously given verbally or in writing. Withdrawal of consent will be documented.
Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Care may use a Seco scale to weigh the client’s baby. The scale will be cleaned after each use. The scale will be covered with a muslin cloth, blanket or inco pad prior to weighing.  The weight will be taken with the baby naked. 

Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support may recommend the use of certain products.

Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support may refer clients to other professionals for continued care.
Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support does not accept fees for these referrals
Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support will provide more than one referral option

Client visits will be canceled in the event of provider illness or personal emergency and rescheduling is not guaranteed. In the event of cancellation for illness or personal emergency, clients will be notified by their preferred method as provided during intake.

​

If Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support is not available due to scheduling constraints, holidays, or illness:

  • New appointment requests will be referred to another IBCLC.

  • Best efforts will be made to notify active clients of any planned closures.

  • Best efforts will be made to respond to urgent messages from active clients during holidays or planned closure. Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support reserves the right to assess the urgency of a client message.

  • Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support will not respond to messages from current clients during holidays, planned closure, illness, or personal emergency.

  • Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support is not obligated to inform clients or potential clients of unavailability due to holiday, planned closure, illness, or emergency.

 

Handwashing occurs:

  • At the start of the office visit

  • After entering the client’s home

  • After using the bathroom

If electronic devices are used:

Screens and keyboards will be cleaned before the start of every visit.

 

Latex-free gloves are worn:​

  • When examining an infant

  • When touching a mother

​

Fee for Service Payment Policies

Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support accepts payments prior to the consultation.

​

For package deals, Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support takes a 50% deposit at the time of the booking.  This deposit is applied to the fee for the package.  This deposit is non-refundable within 48 hours of the planned consultation.  

​

All services are non-refundable.

​

A discount will be applied for follow up visits.

​

A surcharge of 45p per mile will be added to home visits outside of my service area (45 miles in any direction from CW6).

​

Payments are accepted by Cash, PayPal or Bank Transfer. 

​

If Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support must cancel an appointment for any reason and rescheduling is not an option, a full refund will be given.  Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support reserves the right to cancel appointments for any reason without notice.

Special Instructions

If Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support will not be on time for a scheduled visit, Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support will attempt to communicate an updated arrival time by phone or text.

 

For home visits, it is recommended that all pets must be secure in a separate room or crated for the duration of the visit. 

 

Client may grant consent for others to be present during the visit. These names must be provided to Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support in advance and will be collected as part of the Consent for Care.

 

Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support will provide a support person the address for all home visits. Clients will be providing this consent prior to the visit. If client declines to provide this consent, Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support reserves the right to refuse to provide care.

​

Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support will ask client consent for any intern or assistant to attend lactation visits.

​

Support Groups

Chester Sling Library - Breastfeeding Support Group

Every Monday (except Bank holidays) 11-2 @ The Shrewsbury Arms, Mickle Trafford.

​

This session is free to attend. Due to the nature of the venue and time constraints, support may be limited and the group is not to be used in replacement for a Lactation visit.

​

Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support reserves the right to cancel any group offering for any reason without prior notice.

​

Other professionals are welcome to attend group offerings with advanced notice and for observational purposes only.  They may not offer marketing items to group participants.

​

Scheduling Logistics

Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support schedules clients through phone, text, and email.

 

Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support reserves the right to reschedule or cancel appointments for any reason.

 

Priority scheduling will be given to established clients.

Cancellation Policies

If client cancels the visit for any reason less than 48 hours in advance, no refund will be given. 

 

If Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support must cancel an appointment for any reason, no charges to the client will apply.

 

Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support reserves the right to cancel appointments for any reason without notice.

Client Communications

Prospective Clients

Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support maintains a website at www.cheshirebabysupport.co.uk hosted by wix.com. Contact phone number and email address are publicly posted. The website has a contact form that accepts submissions; data from this contact form is stored in a secure drive.

 

When a phone call, email, and/or text comes in from a prospective client comes in, my policy is to:

  • Call back within 24 hours

  • Send a text message or email reply within 24 hours

  • Send a link to my website for more information on my services, if applicable. 

  • I will not provide clinical support or counselling to prospective clients

​

Current Clients

Clients receive 2 weeks of follow up support by phone, text and/or email as part of their fee for services. After the two week period, an extension can be purchased for £15 for 2 weeks by PayPal or Bank Transfer.

Marketing Communications

Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support sends periodic marketing emails. Clients are required to give express consent before being added to an email marketing list. Clients may request to be removed from the list at any point by sending an email request. Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support will never sell or rent this marketing list.

​

Social Media Communications

Members of Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support may maintain private social media accounts for personal use. Connection or direct message requests made by clients through these platforms will not be accepted.

 

Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support maintains public social media accounts for marketing purposes on the following platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. All photos appear by express permission of the owner of the photo and all persons appearing in the photo. No client photos or videos will be published without express written consent. Clients and/or their minor children will not be named in posts on social media without express written consent.

 

Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support will not provide direct clinical support, counselling or advice on any social media platform, either public or private. Public accounts are for marketing purposes only to offer general information.

 

Website Terms and Conditions are publicly posted on the website for Cheshire Infant Feeding & Baby Support.
